Legalize Hemp and Cannabis in California

Hi Family,

Right now there are two competing signature drives to put cannabis legalization initiatives on the ballot in California for November 2010.

One is found at www.taxcannabis2010.org

The other is found at www.CaliforniaCannabisInitiative.org

Please look carefully at the text of both laws (the text of each is finalized at this point) and make up your own mind which one you support.

I am supporting www.CaliforniaCannabisInitiative.org because this law will protect cannabis users from discrimination in healthcare, employment, and housing. It is a full legalization measure for hemp and cannabis which will restore full human rights to cannabis users and growers all across California.

I have two parts to my plan. The first part is to publicly post and distribute our "Call to Arms" in order to recruit volunteers. This document is available here-

The second part of the plan is to ask everyone who volunteers to make a pledge for how many signature they will collect in the next 30 days or so. 15-30 signatures is a good number. You can probably get that number from your family members, friends, co-workers, and neighbors without having to solicit in public too much. This is an "out of the closet" movement. We will have to proudly advocate human rights for cannabis smokers in order to get support from legitimate people. I can supply stickers equivalent to each persons pledge number. These stickers can be used to generate interest and be given to people who sign the petition. Here is the sticker design-

Feel free to distribute and use these images. But don't copyright them because you are not the one who created them.

We have 146 days in order to get the number of signatures that we need. Our petition is hot off the press yesterday September 11th and we are ready to begin collecting signatures this morning September 12th.

We are polling 56% public support for cannabis legalization in California, so this is an initiative which is not doomed. Its time has finally arrived. Now is the time to do this and to do it right. We may only get one chance. If a law which is not exactly what we want is implemented then we may lose our critical mass and our ability to set it right.

If you want to help me in any way please contact the CCI campaign at www.CaliforniaCannabisInitiative.org or write me at deep_space_underground@yahoo.com

Love,

Thank you for your enthusiasm and solid advice Wil. As you can see I have 0 friends on tribe and you have 532. You are also my elder. I will need the support and approval of wise and well loved people like yourself to build up the inertia of this movement in the next few weeks. I am doing all I can. I have pledged to supply one sticker for every signature that we need to get on the ballot.

It has been quite a lonely effort trying to convince people who I know agree with me that now in 2009 we finally have a chance for victory. If we get motivated together we can rise up and make a difference. People are so disheartened in 2009- so many defeats, so many betrayals.

This effort is not about "getting stoned." Everyone who wants to get stoned is already doing so. In fact I believe that within a decade after legalization less people will be smoking pot and those who do so will be smoking more moderately. This is the case in the Netherlands. The ones who do continue to smoke will be free to do so in peace and appreciate the majesty of nature together in unity. This will be better for their spirits.

Thank you again for any and all support and kind words. I believe in the prophecy of the rainbow. I know that Gaia is alive, I have seen the cosmic serpent and it communicated to me in a language beyond words.

Yours truly in peace and solidarity,

I know they passed a county wide initiative on Hawaii last election. Though I am hesitant to involve myself with such things, I do support the Idea to tax the sales of such, and get the market out of the hands of the gangs who use the illegal profits to buy weapons and commit real crimes. But you may have to wait until the Nazis get out of southern Calif. They are still fighting against and denying permits for medical dispensaries.

          Hi Zen,

The "Nazis" are of little concern to me. We will not be seeking their permission because they will never grant it and waiting would be a waste of precious time. Some people have a vested financial interest in prohibition and those people will never support us.

All we need is 650,000 valid signatures of registered voters and a majority of the votes in the election in November 2010. If the "Nazis" vote against us and refuse to sign our petition, that is exactly what I would expect and they are well within their rights to do so.

The more the "Nazis" attack the medical dispensaries the more support will be drawn to our initiative.

As bad as some of the "cannabis gangs" may be, I think any atrocities they commit pale in comparison to the atrocities perpetrated by the crooked judges and prosecutors who unconstitutionally pressure people into forfeiting their 5th Amendment rights, artificially manipulate the jury selection process, and lock honest people in cages for decades. Americans have spent a total of one million years in jail as a result of Cannabis prohibition. This has been called a cultural genocide. So many families have been destroyed by this counter-productive policy that it breaks my heart.

Prohibition creates violence by inflating the price of an agricultural commodity to obscene levels, removing marketers from the protection of the law, and denying them use of the courts to settle contract disputes. Ending prohibition would quickly end this violence just as ending alcohol prohibition brought an end to such things as the St. Valentines Day Massacre. In addition ending prohibition would not increase the amount of Cannabis usage in the long-term. Quite the opposite in fact. Look at some countries in Europe for examples of a successful policy.

Another nice thing about ending prohibition is that crooked police will not be able to steal drugs and then turn around and sell them anymore. They will also not be able to plant drugs on community activists to frame them. These are also real crimes.

          Love,
