The point that a cooling will be disastrous for humanity, because millions will die of starvation, is clearly stated. The consequences of cycles of warming and cooling are clear. Humans flourish when the climate is warmer, and face catastrophe when there is a cooling.
What is absolutely clear is that during the last 100 years CO2 levels increased dramatically, yet in the decades until the late 1980s the global temperature was falling rapidly and humans faced some of the coldest winters in recorded history. Increases of atmospheric CO2 cannot therefore have been the primary cause of any susequent warming.
