Re: Blessed...
Sun, April 12, 2009 - 2:53 PMOnce Upon a time The Romans decided to become Christian. They did this for several reasons. after three hundred and of fifty years persecuting them, feeding them to lions, and watching... they needed direction, and these christian folks had a ton of courage and fortitude.
so amidst the breakdown of their rule, when wild orgies with every extreme of sexual, dominance, murderous, culinary and other drugged state of other sorts were explored... the clarity and humility of the sacrifice on the cross centered a direction in the confusion.
then, naturally, they gathered in committees and congresses to work out the details of the whole faith, to take it to prime time so to speak.
and they rewrote everything.
a wild habit they had was to enter a new culture, ask about the spirituality and go 'oh, that is something we know about. That is jesus!'
And thus Easter, the goddess of spring rebirth...

Sun, April 12, 2009 - 4:21 PMspring is very cool
What's not cool is putting a dupe up on the cross - they didn't have picture ID's back then! - then chilling three days and "rising from the dead".
Happy Easter anyway -
